Preschool Services
Preschool Services is an early intervention support service for children who attend or are entering a licensed childcare program within Cambridge and North Dumfries. Children must be under 6 years of age and be identified by a parent and/or community professional as having a developmental concern.
Types of Services Offered: developmental monitoring, developmental screening, assistance with referrals to other agencies and programs, resource consultation, and ECE enhanced staffing.
How to Make a Referral
Referrals for preschool service are co-ordinated through a central access point called Child Care SNAP (Special Needs Access Point) which can be reached at 741-0076. General Information will be gathered during this initial contact. When Preschool Services is contacted by SNAP staff the Manager of the program will arrange an in depth intake to plan for services.

Children's Fitness Tax Credit
The Government of Canada proposes to allow starting in 2007, a non-refundable tax credit on eligible program of physical activity. The proposed children's fitness tax credit will allow parents to claim a maximum of $500 per year for eligible fees pad for each child who is under 16 at any time during the year. In order to qualify for the tax credit, a program must be, ongoing, supervised, suitable for children and include a significant amount of physical activity that contributes to cardio-respiratory endurance.

The Child Care Special Needs Resourcing Partnership (CCSNRP)
Community Living Cambridge is one of seven community agencies funded by the Region of Waterloo Children's Services Division to provide supports for children with special needs to attend licensed child care settings in the Waterloo Region. These seven agencies form the Child Care Special Needs Resourcing Partnership (CCSNRP) and include:

The CCSNRP works together to create and support the capacity of licensed child care progrmas in identifying and meeting the needs of children with special needs. The CCSNRP vision is "All children and their families can particpate in quality inclusive child care services".
Child Care Special Needs Access Point (SNAP)
SNAP is the single point of access for special needs services for children, birth to age six, attending or planning to attend licnsed child care in the Region of Waterloo. SNAP takes referrals from child care programs, community agencies and parents who have a developmental concern about a child and links families to the most appropriate resource, support or service. kidsLINK is the host agency for SNAP and is one of seven partners in the Child Care Special Needs Recourcing Partnership.
