Community Living Cambridge volunteers will experience:

Community Living Cambridge is seeking volunteers who are able to:
·         Be sincere in your desire to volunteer and understand the value of your contributions
·         Work as a team member with staff and fellow volunteers
·         Be reliable and responsible in your placement
·         Treat people with dignity, courtesy and consideration
·         Be willing to learn and participate in orientation or training
·         Respect the confidentiality of information
 
Volunteer Opportunities
Community Living Cambridge has a wide range of volunteer opportunities from short term or one time events to longer term commitments. Whether you are a student looking for a great place to complete your school hours or enhance your resume or you are someone looking to connect with your community, we have something to offer these include:
 
Recreation Program Volunteers
We offer evening recreational programs throughout the year (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall). Activities run for 1 to 2 hours on different nights of the week for approximately six weeks at a time. Activities are varied: cooking, bowling, guitar lessons, men’s and ladies groups, hiking, computer are just a few examples. We are always open to new ideas!
 
Special Event Volunteers
We are always in need of volunteers to assist with a variety of special and /or one time events (dances, annual picnic, fashion show, etc.). Time commitment is as varied as a few hours in the evening to an afternoon or full day.
 
Day Program Supports
Volunteers are needed to assist with recreational and social supports in our Seniors, life skills and transitional work programs. Volunteers work with staff in teaching new skills or helping individuals to participate in recreational or social activities. Time commitment: programs run Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 3:00 p.m., volunteers’ commitment is based on their availability and program events. On average 1-2 hours, once per week.
 
Volunteers with Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to support and mentor our participants as they volunteer in the community. Time commitment: 2 hours per week during the day. We need a minimum commitment of 6 months for these positions.
 
Leisure Buddies
Leisure buddies are volunteers who work one to one or with small groups doing a variety of activities (coffee, sports events, games, etc.).   These positions are primarily available in the evenings and on weekends. Time commitment: flexible 1-2 hours weekly, bi-weekly or monthly depending on the individual.
 
Bingo
We are always happy to have volunteers to help out with our bingo fundraisers throughout the year. Volunteers work in groups of 3 to record winnings, disperse money and sort loonies. You must be 18 yrs or older to volunteer. Time commitment: 3 hours pre session.
 
New Programming
Perhaps you have an interest or hobby that you would like to share. We may be able to incorporate your skills into an existing program or even create a new one! Feel free to contact us with your ideas!
